Solar in Sydney

Astra is now taking work across Sydney. We are an established installer — over 1,200 systems since 2021 — expanding from our Canberra base rather than a new business finding its feet.

Sydney is split between two distributors and the boundary runs between suburbs, not around postcodes. Ausgrid covers the CBD, the eastern suburbs, the inner west, the North Shore and the Northern Beaches — and, less obviously, Bankstown and the Sutherland Shire. Endeavour Energy covers Greater Western and South-West Sydney: Parramatta, Blacktown, Penrith, Liverpool, Campbelltown and out to the Blue Mountains.

That matters because the two networks have different export rules. Ausgrid allows 10 kW on a single-phase connection; Endeavour’s standard limit is 5 kW, with flexible exports becoming the default from late 2026. Rather than guess from your suburb, we check your address and size to the right one.
