SELF-SERVICE GUIDE

Get your monitoring app
back online

New modem? Changed internet provider? Your solar keeps working — it’s just the Wi-Fi link to your app that needs re-pairing. Pick your app below.

First, breathe easy: when monitoring drops out, your panels typically keep generating and your home keeps running on solar. The app has simply lost its window into the system — these steps reopen it.

Before you start — three quick checks

Have your Wi-Fi details handyYour new network’s name and password — usually on a sticker on the modem.
Stand near the inverterDo this next to the unit with your phone — the pairing happens over a short-range signal.
2.4GHz mattersSolar Wi-Fi dongles use the 2.4GHz band. If your new modem merges bands into one name and pairing fails, that’s usually why — see the tip inside your guide.

Sungrow — iSolarCloud app

WiNet dongle (the small antenna unit on your inverter)

  1. Open the iSolarCloud app on your phone, standing at the inverter. Go to More → Local Access.
  2. Wake the dongle’s local hotspot: press the button on the WiNet dongle three times, then connect in the app (scan the QR code on the dongle if prompted). Don’t open, unplug or reset anything — a short press on that button is all this needs.
  3. Back under More, open WLAN Configuration. Choose your new home Wi-Fi network from the list and enter its password.
  4. Wait a few minutes. The dongle’s network light settles when it’s connected.
✓ You’re done when the app’s plant overview shows your system online again (green network status).
Not listing your network? Your modem may be hiding the 2.4GHz band behind a combined name. In your modem settings (or via your provider’s app), separate the bands or briefly switch off 5GHz while you pair.

GoodWe — SEMS Portal app

Built-in Wi-Fi / Wi-Fi kit

  1. Open the SEMS Portal app and tap Wi-Fi Configuration — it’s on the login screen, so you don’t need to be signed in.
  2. When prompted, go to your phone’s Wi-Fi settings and join the network named Solar-WiFi followed by digits (that’s your inverter broadcasting). Password: 12345678
  3. Return to the app, select your new home Wi-Fi network, enter its password and tap Set. Leave any DHCP setting as it is.
  4. Your phone will drop back to your home network; give the inverter a few minutes to check in.
✓ You’re done when SEMS Portal shows fresh generation data again.
Not seeing Solar-WiFi? Same 2.4GHz story as above — split the bands on your modem, or move your phone right beside the inverter and retry.

Solax — SolaxCloud app

Pocket WiFi dongle

  1. Start here: make sure your inverter is powered on and your phone is standing right beside it, then open the SolaxCloud app and try refreshing. If the system still shows offline, continue below.
  2. On your phone, join the dongle’s own hotspot — a Wi-Fi network starting with Wifi_S followed by the dongle’s serial number.
  3. Open your phone’s browser and go to the dongle’s setup address shown in its quick-start guide (it differs by dongle version). Choose Find AP, select your new home network, and enter its password as the key.
  4. The dongle restarts and joins your new network.
✓ You’re done when SolaxCloud shows your system reporting again.
Hotspot not appearing? Check the 2.4GHz rule above first — that is the usual cause. If it still won’t appear, stop there and call us on 1300 517 120 rather than resetting anything on the unit yourself.

Still stuck?

No shame in it — some modem setups are genuinely fiddly. Send us a support request or call, and we’ll walk you through it.
